Terms of Service
These terms explain the commitments between RatedNails, salon owners, and visitors to the platform. By using RatedNails you agree to follow them, so please read everything carefully.
1. Who we are & scope of service
RatedNails connects salons, technicians, and clients through discovery tools, messaging, bookings, and payments. We are not a salon and do not provide beauty services directly.
- The platform is operated by RatedNails Ltd, registered in the United Kingdom.
- These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, salon owners, and team members using a salon workspace.
- You may only use the platform if you are 18 years or older and can enter into a legally binding agreement.
2. Accounts & responsibilities
You must provide accurate, up-to-date details when creating an account or salon profile and keep your login credentials secure.
- Salon owners are responsible for any team members they invite, including their compliance with licensing, insurance, and health & safety requirements.
- Clients agree to provide truthful contact details, show up for confirmed appointments, and follow salon cancellation policies.
- We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these terms, applicable laws, or community guidelines.
3. Bookings, cancellations & no-shows
Appointment details, including price, location, and add-ons, are confirmed at the time of booking.
- Salons set their own cancellation and rescheduling windows; clients should review these before confirming.
- Late arrivals and no-shows may result in fees or loss of deposit as stated in the salon policy.
- If a salon must cancel, they should notify the client promptly and offer a reasonable alternative or refund where applicable.
4. Payments, subscriptions & fees
Some services on RatedNails require paid plans or per-booking charges. Prices include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Subscription plans renew automatically until cancelled in your billing settings. Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Transaction or processing fees may apply to bookings made through the platform; these will be shown before you confirm.
- Chargebacks, disputed payments, or fraudulent activity may lead to account review and suspension.
5. Reviews, content & intellectual property
Content you upload remains yours, but you grant RatedNails a licence to host, display, and promote it in connection with the service.
- Do not post content that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, or infringes third-party rights.
- Reviews must reflect genuine experiences and comply with our moderation rules. We may remove content that breaches these standards.
- Using our brand assets is allowed only with written permission. All platform software, design, and trademarks are owned by RatedNails or its licensors.
6. Privacy & data protection
Our use of personal data is explained in the RatedNails Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you consent to that processing and agree to honour applicable data protection laws when handling client or salon data.
- Salon owners must only export or reuse customer data for legitimate booking or marketing purposes consistent with consent obtained.
- You must implement reasonable safeguards—such as secure passwords and authorised device access—when handling account information.
7. Disclaimers & limits on liability
RatedNails provides the platform on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or warrant results from using the platform.
- We are not party to agreements between salons and clients and are not liable for the quality of services provided.
- Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under UK consumer law or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, create risk, or cause harm to other users or the platform.
Upon termination, certain clauses continue to apply, including intellectual property, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution sections.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational improvements. Material updates will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law & dispute resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If a dispute arises, we encourage informal resolution first; otherwise, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.
